I encourage you to get involved and share the gift of reading - give of your time and become a tutor, join our LVA-PW Board of Directors, make a donation to LVA-PW, or become an LVA-PW volunteer and organize a fundraising or community awareness event. 2007 Car Wash Fundraiser!

On a hot and humid Saturday in August we conducted of first annual car wash fundraiser. We were not sure how it would turn out - it was a big success! Volunteers came out to hold signs along Dale Boulevard advertising our car wash. Other volunteers worked in shifts washing car after car! We had a line of cars all day long. The turn out was better than we had anticipated. It raised $570.00 AND Walmart gave LVAPW a matching grant which gave us a total of $1,140.00 for our fundraiser! Way to go volunteers! This will make a big impact in keeping our services alive in our county. An enormous thank you goes out to all of the volunteers for your caring and dedication to our cause!

2007 Winter Holiday Fundraising Offered Volunteer Opportunities! Success!

Our annual winter fundraiser was a huge success. We raised close to $4,000 from two fundraisers. Giftwrapping at Barnes & Noble and Borders book stores in addition to bell ringing. Numerous volunteers rang bells at area merchants for donations. Thanks especially to those hardy souls who braved the cold December evenings! Our goal is to continue serving Prince William County as we have been doing since 1991! We thank all of our wonderful volunteers for helping us to reach others for literacy!

Pizza Hut for dinner?

Here's a free way to support LVA-PW while enjoying one of America's favorite foods! Pizza! Once a month we receive 20% of the purchase price spent at Pizza Hut. All you have to do is print off your coupons which we send out each month, or call our office for one. This coupon is given to the restaurant at your time of purchase and LVA earns 20% of your purchase towards our fundraising efforts. Easy enough! Our fundraiser day is the second Tuesday of month when you order from the Dale Boulevard, Forest Dale or Lake Ridge restaurants. Please contact our office for details.
