How to Become a Student

We offer free tutoring to adults in Prince William County who want to improve their reading and writing skills. The tutoring is done by our wonderful volunteers. If you, or someone you know, would like an LVA literacy tutor, please call our office for an appointment at (703)670-5702. The student may get a private tutor or may be placed in a small class of up to five students. You will meet with your tutor usually two hours per week at a time that is convenient for you. Please call us and let's talk about what you would like to learn!

English Conversation Classes Offered on Wednesdays

LVA has partnered with the Chinn Regional Library and the Potomac Library offering free English conversation classes for ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) adults. The class is known as the "English Chatter". It is from 11:00 to 12:30 every Wednesday morning and 7:00 to 8:00 (Chinn only) every Wednesday evening. Please contact the Potomac Library or our office to find out what dates they will be holding class each month. Registration is not required. Stop by and practice your English conversation skills with others!
